Do you have a plan for safe hurricane storage?

River Forest Yachting Center’s Hurricane Club was created to offer boat owners safe harbor during hurricane conditions. By joining the Hurricane Club, you’ll be entitled to wet or dry boat storage in RFYC’s hurricane-protected freshwater locations in both Stuart and LaBelle. These inland locations, with convenient access to the Atlantic Ocean, Lake Okeechobee and the Gulf of Mexico, make RFYC the ideal solution for hurricane refuge.

Hurricane Club Members are guaranteed a reserved space for their boat during hurricanes, and are given preferential haul out treatment over non-members. In addition, Club Members pay only standard “non-hurricane storage rates” for their reserved space, a savings of up to 50% off RFYC’s listed “hurricane storage rates.”

Insurance companies often require boat owners in hurricane zones to have a hurricane plan in case of a named hurricane. RFYC’s Hurricane Club allows you to meet your insurance plans hurricane storage provisions. Plan ahead for hurricane season with RFYC’s Hurricane Club, and you’ll have the peace of mind that when a hurricane approaches, you’ll have shelter from the storm.

Hurricane Club Member Benefits

  • Members can reserve either a guaranteed dry or wet storage space.
  • Members pay standard “non-hurricane rates” for haul out, blocking and jack stands for dry space, saving up to 50% off the listed “hurricane rates.”
  • Members pay standard “non-hurricane rates” for wet space, saving up to 50% off the listed “hurricane rates.”
  • Members receive preferential haul out treatment over non-members.
    • Members will be accommodated based on their ability to arrive at RFYC before the local locks close. Locks close at or around a sustained wind of 30 knots.
    • Boat hauling operations will cease when the wind speed is deemed high enough to put the safety of RFYC’s employees and vessels at risk.
