The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District, Clewiston Branch, responsible for the Okeechobee Waterway, took delivery of their newest tow/push boat "CHOBEE" (short for Okeechobee) at River Forest Yachting Center - LaBelle. CHOBEE specifications: 25'3" x 14' x 6', 600 horsepower, approx. displacement 50,000 lbs. CHOBEE was built by Marine Inland Fabricators (MIF), Panama City, FL and trucked to RFYC on two flatbed trailers. MIF completed integration of the hull with the deckhouse in preparation of launch on March 16th, with sea trials on March 18th.
